Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! There is no cost to register or participate throughout the event.

The Asia Solidarity Lab is set to run on two consecutive days, 24-25 September 2022 (Saturday & Sunday), from 10 AM to 5:30 PM, GMT +8. Our event platform, Zoom Events, typically translates all session timings to the user’s local timezone when you register and log in, but kindly double-check if you can.

This is a public event. Participants should be aware of this when participating in sessions. In addition, you may want to consider your own digital security, such as using VPN.

Facilitators and moderators will also be working to ensure sessions are conducted with dignity and respect between participants.

Finally, we also have in place Community Guidelines that we hope will direct the conduct of all who choose to enter the space. These guidelines were crafted such that the Asia Solidarity Lab serves as a safe space for all attending. Refusal to cooperate will warrant action from the team as stated in the guidelines.

The goal of the Asia Solidarity Lab organizing team is to hold a space that, while dynamic and interactive, is also accessible to people of all technological capacities. In line with this, all you’ll need to attend are:

  • A decent internet connection – ideally one that will be stable enough to sustain you for the duration of the program
  • A device to access the event – many will opt to use a laptop or desktop computer, but you may also use a mobile phone or tablet as our event platform, Zoom Events, can be accessed on any of these devices via the browser or the Zoom app.

Please see below for details on how to get support to attend.

In line with our push to create a dynamic and interactive space, there will be plenty of opportunities for participants to share about their organizations and any campaigns they’re working on. These spaces include dedicated networking times and breakout sessions.

While most of the sessions will run using English, we will strive to make available live simultaneous interpretation in Bahasa Indonesia, Bangla, and Japanese for all plenary panel sessions. Diversity is an important guiding principle in the way the Asia Solidarity Lab has been constructed. Acknowledging our limited resources, part of our goal is still to create a program that is accessible to as many people as possible – and a large part of that is a multilingual experience.

As preparations are underway, we will be updating the program agenda regularly to note:

  • The primary language of delivery for each session
  • Sessions that will be receiving live interpretation in other languages

Acknowledging that internet connections vary in quality and cost around the world, may be able to provide monetary support to some individuals or groups of participants through Accessibility Stipends.
